We are living in a decisive moment.
In a time of fragmentation and rising authoritarianism, we are choosing to come together. The Festival of Revolutions gathers thousands of people and dozens of movements into one shared online international space, to connect, to learn, to imagine, and to act.
Anyone can watch youtube videos alone. Yet isolated, we are vulnerable, and can easily be picked off. The Festival of Revolutions is creating spaces in which relationships can form, connections can strengthen, and new collaborations can emerge.
The Festival will be an information-rich space, in which the radical, honest and revolutionary conversations that you long for become possible. This Festival is about finding the people. It’s about growing our web of togetherness and collective power.
From the More-Than-Human Voices Stage, Frieda Nixdorf and Shayontoni Ghosh – WTR Network Co-directors will offer a Council of All Beings
Anthropocentrism has shaped empire, extraction and extinction. This stage confronts the human-centred worldview at the root of planetary breakdown. Through animal liberation, animist cosmologies and land-based knowledge, we explore what becomes possible when the human is decentered.
A Council of All Beings is a beloved practice of the Work That Reconnects, preferably played within a large group setting. It is a game of imagination and cross-species interaction – a deep witnessing of our interconnected web of life that evokes empathy and a widening sense of perspective.
For Council, we set our human identities aside and a great variety of life-forms gather: birds, lightning, ocean, soil, fish, vegetal beings and everything in-between. Embodying these life-forms, we each share our unique experience of life on Earth in this moment. Inevitably, we come face-to-face with the greatest disruptor of the natural order – the human being.
Drama unfolds. And within the container of the Council, it may even begin to resolve.
This is a closed-room practice which spans 2-hours. Due to the nature of the experience, the doors will close 10-minutes after the hour. Late arrivals will not be admitted.
This Council will be facilitated by Frieda Nixdorf and Shayontoni Ghosh of the Work That Reconnects Network.
