The challenges of these times are very real. How do we navigate the emotional upheaval that so often accompanies the grief, anger, and despair we feel in response to what’s happening in the world? Sadly, most of us were not offered the skills to navigate our emotions. We were taught to repress our ‘negative’ emotions and be happy. But ‘happy’ doesn’t always reflect what we feel inside. Suppressing our emotions can have negative impacts on our well-being, our health, our relationships, and even our livelihood.
The Work That Reconnects invites us to take a fresh look at what we see happening in the world around us. It beckons us to recognize and embrace the entirety of our truth, to form a foundation of gratitude upon which we can thrive. As we move through the phases of the Spiral of the Work–Gratitude, Honoring Our Pain for the World, Seeing with New Eyes, and Going Forth–we remember the value of our emotional landscape. By identifying our unique contribution to the world and connecting with our inner resources, we build our resilience which supports us in navigating these chaotic times of great possibility.

The thread that underscores all of Frieda’s work is the recognition of the healing and regenerative powers of nature and her commitment to serving the planet and growing the cultural shift of the Great Turning. In addition to mothering a young human who is on the brink of venturing out into the world, she offers her gifts as a soul aligned facilitator and guide, purpose mentor, teacher and a playful and connected collector of dream world imagery. Frieda’s background is in psychology, education, art history, visual culture, expressive arts and the non-profit environmental field. She currently serves as adjunct faculty at John F. Kennedy University and staff mentor at Purpose Guides Institute and as a staff member of the Work That Reconnects Network team.
